Public Summary

Sensing of the virus that causes Covid19 by specific receptors in lung leads to an antiviral response, but it also causes lung inflammation that can be deleterious. Our goal is to study one of the receptors that senses viral RNA, toll-like receptor 7 (TLR7), and we will test it as a potential therapeutic target.
