Public Summary

Relatively little is known about COVID-19 infection in children. The ability to test for the virus is limited. However, chest X-ray findings may provide a proxy diagnostic. Specific COVID19 computed tomography findings have been described, but chest x-ray findings have not yet been evaluated. Anecdotal clinical evidence suggests that pulmonary edema or atypical pneumonia may be seen in children with COVID19 infection. We will examine the proportion of abnormal chest x-rays performed in pediatric emergency departments during the COVID-19 pandemic.
