Public Summary

All viruses including coronaviruses hijack specific components of the host cells to facilitate viral entry, viral protein synthesis, genome replication and assembly of new infectious virions. We use CRISPR genetic screens to identify host factors, which are critical for coronavirus infection. This will provide a better molecular understanding of how the virus interacts with its host and may illuminate new therapeutic targets for antiviral therapy.
