UCSF is participating in the CovidSurg study coordinated by the University of Birmingham through the NIHR Global Surgery Research Unit, a worldwide collaboration of surgeons coming together to understand the implications of COVID-19 on surgical patients. The CovidSurg study aims to determine the 30-day mortality in patients with COVID-19 infection who undergo surgery. The CovidSurg-Cancer arm aims to evaluate the 30-day COVID-19 infection rates in elective cancer surgery during the COVID-19 pandemic.
