Public Summary
UCSF investigators worked with colleagues around the world to establish the COVID-19 Global Rheumatology Alliance registry (rheum-covid.org) to create an open platform for rapid data collection and dissemination during the pandemic. COVID-19 has potential to severely affect those with rheumatologic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus or those taking immunosuppressive drugs. Few data are available to guide clinical decision making for these patients. The international case reporting registry is designed to answer critical questions that will inform the medical care of this population. Our UCSF team is leading a team of scientists across 6 continents who have already contributed >2000 cases to the registry.
Type of Research: Epidemiology / Population / Public Health Science study
