Public Summary

This clinical trial is testing a promising new therapy for acute respiratory failure in critically ill patients with COVID-19 infections at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and UCSF Parnassus Medical Center. The therapy is with mesenchymal stromal cells that may decrease lung injury and enhance repair and hopefully reduce the severity of acute respiratory failure and improve survival.
