Public Summary
Although the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the public's anxiety levels have been well documented by traditional media, little is known about the impact on frontline medical providers. In mid-March 2020, we initiated a longitudinal study to assess multiple factors affecting emergency medicine physicians in the US during the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, we sought to assess home and workplace anxiety, burnout, work-related stressors, changes to home life, and perceptions as to what measures might ease provider anxiety.
